Overview
ITCVA’s Monitoring Community of Practice (MCOP) provides an opportunity for state staff and local early intervention service professionals to come together from across Virginia to delve into and explore one or more topics related to Part C of IDEA general supervision and monitoring (GSM). State and local GSM practices support compliance with Part C regulations as well as quality practices for the infants and toddlers and their families supported and served by ITCVA. Our hope is to make GSM understandable, approachable and, wherever possible, fun!
As a community of practice, participants are encouraged to come prepared to share their own knowledge, tricks and tools with others. Although MCOPs are being offered with local system managers (LSMs) in mind, all who are interested in a particular topic are welcome to join.
Online Participation
It’s important for state staff to know who’s in the meeting room. For this reason, all attendees are asked to ensure that both their name and the name of their local early intervention system’s (LEIS) are visible when joining a meeting. Participants who cannot be identified will not be admitted into the meeting from the waiting room.
Schedule
MCOPs are held on the first Wednesday of each month beginning at 3:00PM (Eastern). Meetings are recorded for those unable to participate. Recording links are typically posted by the following business day.
